"The energy spent on active inner work is then and there transformed into a fresh supply, but that spent on passive work is lost for ever."

-G.I. Gurdjieff

he Gurdjieff Work is a spiritual tradition formulated for the modern western mind. The Gurdjieff system consists of teachings and practices that are designed to reveal a reality that is ordinarily veiled from view and to awaken one's true nature and purpose.

Gurdjieff taught that while we wish for liberation from our limiting self concepts and yearn for contact with something higher, we're unable to touch this finer invisible existence as we are. We may see our lives through outdated patterns learned long ago and are trapped in a state of consciousness which both defines our world and prevents us from living more fully in the present.

Escape from the prison of an unconscious existence requires the preparation of a place inside us for higher influences to penetrate. This preparation is at the heart of the Gurdjieff Work.
